Vesterheim’s Chief Curator Laurann Gilbertson is presenting The History of Norwegian Sweaters to the Daughters of Norway – Eva Nansen Lodge #46 in Des Moines.
Learn about the history of different types and styles of Norwegian sweaters, including Setesdal, Fana, Marius, and Olympic. Gilbertson will also talk about the symbolism behind some of the patterns and colors on sweaters made today. Be sure to wear your favorite sweater!
Laurann will speak to the group online through Zoom to the lodge members who will meet in person at the above location, and they welcome the public to attend. The presentation will be shown on a large screen in the meeting space. A private business meeting will follow the main presentation.
All attendees are asked to wear a face mask.
