Join Vesterheim for this free online event celebrating the exhibition, Sylvsmidja: Superior Craftsmanship in Silver Since 1940. Registration is required, and you will receive an email from Zoom with the link to join the event.
During this event, meet representatives from Sylvsmidja, which is Norway’s largest manufacturer of silver jewelry for bunader or national costumes. Anne Kari Salbu, co-owner, will share a short history of the Sylvsmidja company, the history of the sølje (brooch), and some of the symbolism associated with the motifs used in silver. Goldsmith Anders Fagerthun will explain the best way to clean and care for your Norwegian silver jewelry. CEO Trond Syversen will also be on hand to answer questions.
