Master woodworkers Phil Odden and Else Bigton and master rosemaler Patti Goke joined Vesterheim to discuss their work on the Frozen attraction in the Norway Pavillion at Disney’s Epcot Center in Florida. Phil, Else, Patti, and their teams worked on all of the woodworking and painting in the recent remodeling of the buildings. They share how these different crafts have informed and influenced patterns, design decisions, and overall planning. These master artisans also discuss what it means to make and share craft in today’s world and in a location like Disney, which serves millions of visitors each year!
