Barnetimen (Children’s Hour) is online! Preschoolers and their caregivers are invited to join on our website here or Vesterheim’s Facebook page or YouTube channel.
Connect with Jennifer Kovarik, Vesterheim’s Youth Educator, to explore objects in the museum’s collection and make art inspired by those objects.
This Month: Get ready for winter! Norwegians have a saying that there is no bad weather, only bad clothing! In the Northern Hemisphere, the weather is getting colder now and it is time to put on warmer clothing. During the session, explore Vesterheim’s collection of winter clothing, like warm sweaters, caps, and mittens. Inspired by these objects, decorate a sweater, cap, or mittens using colors, patterns, and texture.
Materials:
Print and decorate a cozy cap, mittens, and sweater with your favorite colors! Add texture and see what patterns you can make.
